TWO SEATS ON A PRIVATE FLIGHT AVAILABLE OUT OF EL PASO - FEB. 12 - 16 - CALL IF YOU ARE INTERESTED
Feb 4 – There are many great stories we could tell you about this past week
fishing at Huites, but this one stands out: Gale Vaught and Roger Matthews
both from Missouri had a day on the water yesterday that was nothing short of outstanding.
They caught a total of 361 fish – the biggest fish being 8.15 lbs. and
described an incredible number of fish over 3 lbs. Fishing up near the
railroad tracks throwing against the rock walls with medium-running white
Bill Dance crank baits, along with solid white willow leaf ½ oz. spinner
baits, their comment was: "you could almost catch a fish every cast."
We
predict many more great stories to come. Over the last ten days, we have
been plagued with wind, rain and cold weather but the fishing has been red
hot!
February 1 - Jay Morton and his wife, Nancy, are having excellent results - caught a 10.1 trophy and averaging 100 fish per day.
Jeff Pope and John Lawson continue to have a great trip - caught over 280 fish yesterdy, mosly all on white crankbaits.
Roger Matthews and Gale Vaught are just killing them on swimbaits and spinnerbaits averaging 135 a day with a good number of 4 to 6 lb. bass.
January 30 - Jeff Pope and John Lawson, a couple of wildcats from Kentucky, are just creating all kinds of problems for the fish at Huites! They are averaging 150 fish a day in the boat, up to 8 lbs. with the best fish coming off the banks with large and medium crankbaits - white and green.
We also have John Stafford and his group fishing the creek channels with white/pearl wacky style Senkos which is producing up to 7 lbs. We are getting very good numbers at Huites and someday soon hope to see some real trophies pulled from the lake.
Come and see us at Lake Huites Lodge and let us help you arrange a private landing near the lake!
January 25 - Bob Schriewer and Jerry Ballard just returned from the lake via private air out of Choix and John Owens and Jeff Pope just got to the lodge also via private air into Choix - a great way to get to the lake! Excellent, excellent fishing! It's off the charts with 4, 5, 6 and 7 lbers caught in the canyons in 12 to 14 feet of water on Senkos and crank baits. Extreme weather did force us to close down the lodge on the 23rd of January due to very high winds and almost monsoon type rains.
Jan 15th
Good numbers and quality.Huites is hot right now...if you looking a for a special deal see our special page
With the water slightly stained over most of the lake the fishing continues to be excellent up the canyons and near the railroad tracks. Dark colored crankbaits and watermelon/golden lizzards working excellent. Mullent colored swimbaits, along with Pearl coloredswimbaits seem to catch the bigger fish.
NOTE: our planes are landing at Choix just 40 minutes from Lake Huites Lodge and we do have a group landing on Monday the 18th
